Emirate’s safety framework supports growth, tourism and investment appeal
DUBAI – Ajman has achieved a major global recognition after ranking first in the Safety Index among the world’s top ten cities, according to the Numbeo report for the first half of 2026.
The achievement highlights the emirate’s continued progress in developing an integrated security ecosystem focused on innovation, rapid response and community engagement. It also reinforces the UAE’s position as a leading destination for living, working and investing within a secure and stable environment.
The latest ranking reflects the effectiveness of Ajman’s security framework, which combines advanced policing services, enhanced field readiness, faster emergency response capabilities and stronger partnerships with the community. The emirate’s approach has positioned safety as a key element supporting social stability and sustainable development.

The Ajman Statistics Centre monitors the index and coordinates with relevant entities to ensure data accuracy and support collaborative efforts aimed at maintaining the emirate’s high safety standards.
Smart security
Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-General of Ajman Police, said the achievement reflects the vision of the UAE’s leadership, the continuous advancement of the security sector and the adoption of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, to strengthen policing operations.
He highlighted that Ajman Police has developed an integrated security model based on AI systems, big data analysis and predictive technologies designed to improve public safety. The Ajman Dar Al Aman (Ajman: Home of Safety) system has played a key role in enhancing smart surveillance capabilities and connecting security platforms with real-time analytical tools.
These systems enable authorities to monitor security indicators, identify potential risks and support proactive decision-making before incidents occur. The integration of intelligent technologies has also improved operational efficiency and strengthened the ability of field teams to respond quickly to emergencies and evolving security requirements.
The emirate’s safety achievements have also been supported by a series of specialised programmes and initiatives, including Tourism Patrol, Aman (Safety) patrols, the Li Himayatikum (For Your Protection) project for safeguarding buildings and facilities, crime reduction programmes and smart electronic anti-narcotics patrols.
Other developments include the expansion of smart traffic management systems, advanced surveillance and command centres supported by intelligent analytics, as well as awareness campaigns based on behavioural and data analysis. These initiatives have contributed to strengthening security readiness across the emirate.
Community policing
Community policing has remained a key part of Ajman’s security strategy, with initiatives designed to enhance cooperation and trust between police services and residents. Police centres have introduced several programmes to improve public interaction and service delivery, including post-service follow-up calls and the Positive Customer initiative.
The Li Khidmatikum (At Your Service) patrol has further supported a community-focused approach by providing security services directly to senior citizens, residents, women and persons of determination at their homes. The initiative reflects efforts to make police services more accessible and responsive to different segments of society.
Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi also credited the achievement to the support and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, and Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
He noted that the global ranking demonstrates the strength of cooperation between security authorities and strategic partners, while supporting Ajman’s position as an attractive destination for tourism, investment and economic growth.
The achievement aligns with the goals of “We the UAE 2031” and Ajman Vision 2030, which focus on creating a safer, more prosperous and high-quality living environment through innovation, sustainability and advanced public services.
The Commander-General of Ajman Police thanked officers, personnel, employees and partners for their contribution, stating that the recognition reflects collective efforts towards building an intelligent security system that continues to enhance Ajman’s global standing in safety and quality of life.
